Whether VMware has procedure that How to reinstall vSAN Node Server ?

Hi All

When I test my vSAN and view , I think a question that if one Node seem has problem or crash, if I could direct re-install on this server or need a procedure to clear existing folder or setting before re-install ESXi again ??

thanks!!

I try to direct re-install ESXi which OS Disk replace, and I seem it still find older VSAN setting and try to mounting when initial booting (at that moment, I still not set IP to this server)

There is no need to clear the existing folders. If for whatever reason the host is dead beyond response I recommend you run the installer as if it is an upgrade process. When you then add the host to your vCenter cluster again it comes back with the same identity and VSAN should re-sync.

If you prefer to do things differently then you can always boot your host with something like "gparted" first and just wipe all the disks.

Yes, as per "depping" first suggestion, you need not to re-format SSD/HDD. Just add your host to vCenter once you run installer task is completed.
