Hello,
Looking into virtualizing my windows infrastructure (~20 windows servers). So far I am looking at VMware vSphere Essentials plus and a three server vsphere cluster. A SAN is very costly and I am looking at other alternatives. A was looking at VSA a few months ago and just recently I read that it is discontinued. Is this correct? Besides cost, what other factors would come in play when deciding between VSAN or a SAN appliance? I already know the vmware product to go with, the server hardware specs for vsphere, but am stuck on whether to go with VSAN (VSA preferably) or a SAN.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Best regards,
Alex
