UNMAP or Space reclamation with VSAN data stores

Is there an equivalent command for "unmap" with VMFS for VSAN data stores ?

I have provisioned and deleted large number of virtual desktops in a EVO:RAIL appliance , which is using the VSAN datastore, I would like to reclaim the unused spaces.

Thank you

Sankar

Unused space is normally automatically reclaimed. Are you saying that you don't see this happening? Which interface did you use to delete the VMs?

So was doing some digging on this as we just had an unmap issue on are older VMFS datastore. When a VM is deleted from VSAN you are stating that automatic space reclamation is done by vsan? Similar to when we would have to run the unmap in previous verision for VMFS datastores. Now what if a VM's files are deleted within the VM. Seems as though that has always plauged VMFS. Is this handled differently in VSAN?

Can you clarify your question? Are you asking if T10 UNMAP / Space Reclamation is occurring at the datastore level or within the VM?
