Restrict usage on VSAN datastore (storage resource pool)

Hi guys,

Is anyone aware or familiar on how one could limit the actual usage on a VSAN datastore? Similar to what a compute resource pool is on a cluster level, I'm aiming to limit the storage usage to ensure we run in the "safe zone". I know something similar can be achieved using storage DRS clusters and the capacity threshold. Should we move the VSAN datastore in a logical SDRS container with no automation and set the capacity size?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

VSAN doesn't support SDRS

i cannot think of any.

at a very granular level you could use "object reservation" VM storage policy to reserve capacity upfront for individual vmdk and setup alert systems on total vsan capacity usage at datastore levels.
