Monitoring VSAN 6.0

Hi,

we are doing heavy testlab stuff since v6 is ga and we are wondering if there is something new with monitoring of vsan 6.0. We noticed in the web client there is no much of monitoring data to be found. Is it still observer or do you plan to integrate something else / want the users to monitor via vRealize?

Best regards,

Joerg

One new thing you might find interesting is the vSAN health Services.

http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/products/vsan/VMware_Virtual_SAN_Whats_New.pdf

apart from that no changes in monitoring aspect. and observer still plays a main role when it comes to monitoring details

Yes, You can expect more details on vRealize integration in near future

Thanks,

OK thanks. I hoped that was integrated by now. So the status quo is still that you have to manually start and stop a console tool to monitor vsan.

There is also a VSAN management pack in the works -

vRealize Operations Management Pack for Storage Devices

Check this post:http://blogs.vmware.com/management/2015/02/vsan-simplifying-sddc-storage-operations-with-vrealize-op...

I don't have any availability dates though. I would ping the poster for further info.
