MSCS in vSAN 6.1

I have a question about configuration SQL Server Cluster(MSCS) on vSAN 6.1.

is it right configuration that two SQL Servers on MSCS are running on same node.

Is it can that two SQL Servers running on different node based on shared volume(vSAN) configuration ?

Hello,

What type of MSCS cluster are you aiming to set-up here?

Please note that the only supported iteration of this on vSAN is SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, MSCS with shared-disks is not supported:

"Microsoft Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) is supported with VMware vSAN version 6.1 and later for SQL Server Always On AG (non-shared storage)."

From an HA perspective, it doesn't make sense to have both VMs on the same host. Please refer to MSCS best practices for vSphere for VM placing.

For vSAN, you may want to read this document for best practices Storage and Availability Technical Documents
