Disk life

Hello, i'm new to vSAN and have a few questions.

How well does vSAN tolerate a variety of drives (both size and performance) in a disk group? If that is not recommended, how do we ensure the least amount of issues with future storage growth needs?

my thinking is you need to keep the same size and firmware. Also, what if a year from now I lose a drive and my vendor has EOL'd that drive. Am i to  replace the entire disk group?

It's recommended to use the same disks (size and speed) in disk group and across the cluster.

If you want to add disks to the cluster use the same size and speed as before.
