I have 1 ssd and 1 hdd in 1 server I want to add 1 more hdd to the server and thus expand the disk group. Is this possible?

Hi User003,

Yes this is possible, and very easy to do. Just go to Disk Management, and add that drive to your existing Disk Group. Make sure there are no existing partitions on the new drive, or else it won't be a candidate for vSAN.

Yes. You can have upto a maximum of 7 capacity devices (HDD in your case) and one cache device (SSD) in a disk group .
