About VSAN and raw disk

Hi guys,

it's possible in a cluster VSAN 6.1 scenario configure a virtual machine that have a second disk "as raw" volume as i done with my classic storage ?

Thanks in advance.

Good morning, let me see if I understand.  A cluster with hosts that have vSAN storage and other storage.  You're asking can you have a VM with .vmdk on vSAN and then present another .vmdk from the other storage as raw?  The answer is yes.

If you're asking, can you present vSAN storage as raw, then answer is no.  Thank you, Zach.

Hi Zach,

thanks for your reply.

No exactly.. I would Know if i have only VSAN solution for my ESX farm if i can have a virtual disk used as "raw" device for a cluster S.O. as i done before using a dedicate LUN/Datastore from my SAN Storage array.

Bye.

Good morning, thank you for clarifying.  You cannot present a Raw .vmdk if your only storage is vSAN.  Thank you, Zach.
