4-Node Stretched Cluster + Witness --- Is local mirroring possible?

Hi,

we have a 4-Node Stretched Cluster plus Witness (2+2+1). We have a storage policy that defines "Dual site mirroring (stretched cluster)".

I am wondering if it is possible to add local mirroring? I know that this would consume 4x disk space.

If I try to create a policy with "Dual site mirroring (stretched cluster)" and "1 failure -RAID-1 (Mirroring)" , the Datastore is presented as incompatible.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just impossible to do this?

Kind regards

Bastian

@BastianP , This showing as incompatible is expected behaviour as a minimum of 3+3+1 nodes contributing storage to the cluster would be required for placement of RAID1+RAID1+witness data.

So, no you are not doing anything wrong, it just won't work with any cluster smaller than 3+3+1.
