I have a VRSLCM 8.4 deployment with multiple environments and datacenters configured to the same vcenter. After some organization changes, we'd like to move VROPS 8.4 from one environment to another.
Can we delete the environment without deleting the VROPS deployment and then import it into another environment? We are looking for options that preserve the existing VROPS deployment.
When you delete an environment, you have a checkbox to also remove the VM's.
So, as long as you do not tick that checkbox, you can remove it from LCM without removing the VM's.
I've done that a few times (with vRA8 env) in my lab and never lost my VM's...
However, that said, I personally would still only do this in a maintenance window after checking my backups. 😉
