I've read a few blog posts around that state this is possible, but is anyone using this configuration and can detail how it was accomplished?
My environment isn't very large as to bring another syslog in since i'm currently using vMA for the vCenter Servers and ESXi hosts.
thanks.
I'm not using it myself, but it is common to configure and use vMA for syslog. Some, prefer syslog over the vilogger functionality.
There is a good write up at vmwise.com, that addresses the firewall rules, syslog configuration, and log rotation.

Are you looking to just have audit information logged via syslog or for all vCD logs to be logged via syslog? If it's the former, the prompts in the configure tool will enable that. If you're interested in the latter, you'll want to follow this communities doc: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14101
thanks gents, this puts me on the right path.
