vCloud Suite Enterprise vs vRealize Suite Enterprise

Happy Solar Eclipse Super Moon First Day of Spring to you,

I have a client that is remodeling their entire VMware Environment.  One of the questions that has come up is vCloud Suite vs vRealize Suite.  I am getting confusing answers from our VMware Partner. So I am turning to the community.  Does vCloud Suite Enterprise "contain" vRealize Suite Enterprise?  Are you missing something from vCloud Suite if you don't get vRealize Suite?

It appears to me that vRealize Suite Enterprise is an option for customers who want to a la carte the product onto their existing vSphere licensing without getting vCloud.  I have worked with customers in the past who did something similar with SRM.

Thanks,

Boston TechGuy

Does vCloud Suite Enterprise "contain" vRealize Suite Enterprise?

No, there are completely separated suite, but contains some features/products that are present in both suites.

Are you missing something from vCloud Suite if you don't get vRealize Suite?

Yes, can't remember all differences right now, but for example teh vRealize Automation from vCloud Suite cannot manager physical endpoints.

It appears to me that vRealize Suite Enterprise is an option for customers who want to a la carte the product onto their existing vSphere licensing without getting vCloud.

vRealize Suite is a cloud management platform with purpose of manage hybrid cloud, that can even been non-vSphere cloud, but does not include any hypervisor license. The vCloud Suite is more related to vSphere cloud and will include license for vSPhere ESXi hypervisor and in Enterprise edition the SRM licenses too.

Richardson,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I believe I understand much better now.

To make sure I do have this correct: The vRealize Suite is a hybrid cloud manager.  One of the components that it shares with vCloud Suite is the vRealize Automation (formally known as vCAC).  Also the vRealize Automation package is what is a la carte for vSphere, not the vRealize Suite.  This is what I think kept tripping me up.

Thanks,

Boston TechGuy

Not only the vRA (formerly vCAC) is shared between the suites, but the vRealize Operations and vRealize Business are common on both suites.
