vCloud SQL Database Issue

Hi,

Upon trying to install my vCloud Director it will not pick up my SQL Instance name I created (the install fails - see below).  However if I select the default (MSSQLSERVER) the installation will complete successfully even though I don't actually have a default instance name of MSSQLSERVER!!

Any ideas??

The following database types are supported:
        1. Oracle
        2. Microsoft SQL Server

Enter the database type [default=1]: 2

Enter the host (or IP address) for the database:    172.20.1.1

Enter the database port [default=1433]:
Using default value "1433" for port.

Enter the database name [default=vcloud]:
Using default value "vcloud" for database name.

Enter the instance name [default=MSSQLSERVER]: VCLOUDDB
Enter the database username: vcloud
Enter the database password: vcloudpass

Connecting to the database: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://vcd-db.domain.com:1433/vcloud;socketTimeout=90;instance=VCDDB

Could not connect to database. Please reenter.

It appears this chap had the same issue and used the default instance but this surely isn't the resolution??

Probably also worth mentioning I am using Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2.

you can have instance be blank too, so it'll connect to the default instance for the account name (i think).  I find this more common, instead of actually typing it out.

If I leave it blank then the default instance MSSQLSERVER is selected (even though I never configured this Instance name when installing SQL).  I find it odd that when I type in my Instance name VCLOUDDB or by using the Database Server IP Address it fails?  This can't be right surely?
