Hello,
We build new services in Poland, Public Cloud using vCloud Director.
And we have question about configuration External network.
Customr must have IP from public class, We have /22 IP subnet from RIPE and how we can assign /28 or /29 for custommer
who have Virtual Data center? VMware didn't have any documentation how build Public Cloud.
Private Cloud is wery easy to deploy. But if somebody wants build Public Cloud have issue about External Network for Virtual Data Centers.
How did You resolv this issue in Your Public Cloud Enviroments?
Yum create separated VLANs for each subnets for VDC ? or one VLANs and split subnets in vCloud DIrector or Distributed vSwitch??
Best regards
Tom
It is possible, You want to doA routed external organization network using vShield Edge
See page 42 of this doc
http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vcat/Architecting-VMware-vCloud.pdf
You will also want to read these

Routed is only for public network to private network IP adresses. Like 8.8.8.8/22 to 192.168.0.0/24
This is not what we want to reach.
we wants assign 1 IP or subnet /28 or /29 to VM from 8.8.8.8/22 subnet using vCloud Director how we can do It?

Did you ever get an answer to this question?
I am in the process of setting up a Public Cloud on vCloud 5.5 and have similar questions. The external network seems to be the most confusing when the objective is a public cloud.
