vCloud Director appliance - User interface doesn't work

Hello to all!

I'm evaluating vCloud Director appliance and I have an issue.

The issue is that I can't acces to the user interface (https://192.168.5.100)... but console interface (https://192.168.5.100:5480) wokrs, ping works... I'm connected in the same network, no firewalls, no routers.

Any idea?

Thanks!

I thought I would try and have a pop at helping as you haven't had any responses yet but I have to admit I have not used the vCD appliance so do not know if it is configured in a special way for the lab?? It does however look like you are running the portal and the proxy service on the same IP which I do not believe will work. The docs state:

"vCloud Director requires two network interfaces. One is used for HTTP traffic; the other is used for the console proxy traffic. The FQDN name should resolve to the HTTP interface."
Hope this helps

I was also having the same issue, once i configured the console proxy, the issue is fixed now.

Do one thing login to local console of appliance and set the option for proxy and configure one IP (i choose the lower one) and enter port no. as "443". click ok.

now browse to the IP in portal and you will see the configure vcloud director wizard.

Please be noted that you need adobe flash player installed at your system from where you are opening the browser.

Gud  Luck

Cheers

Deepak

interestingly when it used an ip from my dhcp, i was able to access the vcd user interface.

where do you do this?

Are you referring to the proxy server setting here?
