vCloud Director seems a cool software to manage the whole VMware
cloud solutions.
I'm interested to find out if VMware has any plan
to integrate with different hypervisor product? say Oracle Sun xVM or
Xen in future roadmap?
Thanks
I don't speak for the company, but that seems highly unlikely to happen unless a significant number of customers require that functionality.
The vCloud API could potentially be reimplemented by someone on top of a platform other than vSphere, but obviously you would not be using the VCD product.
I think Yoongs question is valid. If we really want to build hybride clouds in The coming years we should be able to merge Clouds.
Don't get me wrong i am a strong believer in The VMware solution! Is there an API available for The cloud inteface? Other company's like Quest wil proballly be able to develop some interfaces that wil make merging clouds posible.

The vCloud API specification and programming guides are available here: http://communities.vmware.com/community/developer/forums/vcloudapi
Thanks Kyle!

even if it was part of the roadmap no one would make a comment around that on a public forum.
There is a vCloud API and that is what vCloud Director uses as well. Multiple partners like Hytrust, Quest, Veeam etc are already working on tools / plugins etc to enable a fully automated stack. However as you can imagine this will take time.
