vCloud Director Disaster Recovery

Dear Folks,

While I'm searching on DR topic for vCloud Director, I found this article: VMware vCloud Director 5.1 disaster recovery demonstration using VMware Site Recovery Manager 5.1 | ...

What I understand from this is that there is no direct method for providing DR for vCloud Director workloads. Also the vCenter used with vCloud must be different from the once which is registered with SRM.

I just wanted to know if there is any direct method of protecting vCloud workloads through SRM or any other method in 5.5?

Any help will be really appreciated.

Regards,

Hari.

Some vendors (like Symantec(NetBackup)) have products to handle standard backup/restore style protection for vCloud.  What type of DR are you looking for, mutli-site failover or just detect and restore?

Veeam and Zerto also have offerings in this DR situation.  Veeam is more like backup and restore (Enhanced support for vCloud Director with Veeam Backup & Replication v7 - Recorded Webinars), Zerto seems to be more BC/DR (BCDR for Private Clouds - Zerto)
