All -
I'm having an issue getting the first Cell in my vCloud enviroment up. It's a lab enviroment so I've attached the logs here.
The title says it all. When I get the URL the screen flashes grey and then times out. It looks like the service is attaching to 443 correctly.
There weren't any errors or issues during instalation or configuration. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Any help is much appreciated.
Hi,
Just checked very quickly the logs files and seems you have a DNS problem.
Log extract:
rg.quartz.SchedulerException: Couldn't get host name! [See nested exception: java.net.UnknownHostException: vCell01.demo.local: vCell01.demo.local]
Fix your DNS configuration and try again.

org.quartz.SchedulerException: Couldn't get host name! [See nested exception: java.net.UnknownHostException: vCell01.demo.local: vCell01.demo.local]
This indicates an issue with your hostname or DNS entry. Make sure your DNS entry (forward and reverse lookup) for the HTTP IP matches the hostname on your vCD host in the network settings.
I had the same symptoms.
Cheers.
Guys -
Can't thank you enough. I knew this looked like a DNS issue but I had done an NSLOOKUP on all the IPs and http and consoleproxy DNS entries.
What I forgot is the hostname of the accual RHEL server.
Sure enough add that DNS entry and bang it works. I love easy fixes.
Much appreciated for your help guys!!!!!!!!
