host provisioning

Hi,

Environment

     vCD 8.2 SP.

     VC 6.5

     Compute on Cisco UCS.

     vRo

a requirement has come in to allow tenants to have a dedicated blades (min2) using the 'Dedicated Cloud' Consumption model.

How would the mechanics for this kind of request work?

Thanks

There are multiple ways through which you can achieve this . You can either isolate the resource at provider level or Org VDC level.  Assuming that there is only one Provider in your case - while creating org-vdc ensure that you are selecting underlying UCS blades(which should be part of a cluster at vSphere level) - VDC selection would be either at Cluster or resource pool level which indirectly maps to your H/W resource

VC(Integrated with NSX)->VCD->pVDC(A,B,C)->Org-VDC(UCS Cluster) -> VAPP(A),VAPP(B) etc etc..

This is the most simple example i can think about ,however how you dedicate your storage/network both Virtual&Physical it is a design choice . In addition to all these if you are need of pinning VM to any specific host out of these blades you can configure anti-affinity  rules
