VMware Remote Console access via Firefox 13 gives blank screen

Hi,

I updated my Firefox on my Windows 7 system from Firefox 12 to Firefox 13 and now I get a blank screen when I popout console, but i can view the screen when I switch to full screen.

I am using VMware Remote Console and Client Intergration 4.0.0.10045 plugin.

Regards,

Niks

The very same thing happens to me. I even tried re-installing the plugin / disabling / re-enabling it. No luck. I am thinking of going back to FF 12. and IE is a waste of time.

I have the same issue with FF13 on Fedora 16... I do not know whether it worked on FF12...

I tried all Firefox versions. Only solution I can suggest is to go and use Firefox ESR version because this version doesn't get updated frequently like the standard version... http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ or use Microsoft IE 8/9.

I tried Firefox ESR 10.0.5 64 bit on Fedora 16, but I still got the blank black screen.

Same here, my output shows

maybe that helps someone to solve the problem.

I use openSUSE and tried it with Version 11 and 13 of firefox, but none works. Maybe Version 10 would work (is the default in SLES 11 SP2) but that has incompatible addons.

For a workaround you can use it if you enter 'full screen' mode. For me, it stopped working after the latest FF update (13.0.1)

The RC plugin is generally buggy and slow. Hoping for a much improved one in next version.

I can confirm that Firefox ESR 10.0.5 32bit on Windows works when FF 13.0.1 does not (without using full screen mode).

Direct download to ESR releases:

There's actually a bug opened up against Firefox on this @ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765539 .

I've mainly seen this occur on Firefox 13.0.1 on Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) and plugin version 4.0.0.11037 (vCloud Director 1.5.1).

Oddly enough, with the same version of Firefox and the plugin, this issue does not occur in Ubuntu 12.0.4 32bit.

The Mozilla guys are looking for someone to help to reproduce this issue:

Maybe someone from here can help...

I have volunteered to give them a temporary account so they can replicate and debug the issue.

Hi,

Web browser support in vCloud Director 1.5

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=200581...

and

Supported web browsers in VMware vCloud Director 5.1

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=203455...

Also the blank screen issue maybe fixed in 5.1 under certain scenarios. Try hitting Full Screen to see VM.

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=203279...

plus this KB if valid I never tried it and not sure if it is the same scanario.
