Upgrade to vCloud Director appliance 10.0

We have vCloud Director 9.7 on Linux with external MS SQL database

We are planning to upgrade to vCloud Director appliance 10.0 with an embedded PostgreSQL database

What is better way to do this:

1. Migrate the Microsoft SQL Server database to a PostgreSQL database and than migrate to vCloud Director appliance 10.

or

2. Migrate to vCloud Director appliance 9.7 and then upgrade to vCloud Director appliance 10.0

Easiest way is to migrate to the vCD Appliance 9.7 with the embedded PgSQL database and then do an in-place appliance upgrade to vCD 10. The "dbmigrate" tool inside of vCD works really well.
