I was wondering if there wil be any special vCD training available? I hope that it wil also include some Oracle knowledge i am blank in this..
regards, Peter van den Bosch
I was also blank about Oracle DB prior to working on vCD, the Installation Guides and KB's are written very well and include every step required to install and configure Oracle.
Here's what I did to configure Oracle for vCD
- Download the supported version from oracle.com, in my case I used the Windows version Microsoft Windows (x64) File 1, File 2 (2GB). Extract them in the same folder and use the setup to install Oracle, the Installation is very easy.
Hope this helps

Please check out the vCloud Director Evaluator's guide http://www.vmware.com/resources/techresources/10140
It does not have instructions on installing/configuring Oracle but will help you with understanding and exploring your cloud environment.
There are several KB videos concerning vCloud Director available on our KBTV YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/VMwareKB#p/u
Also, if you search in our Knowledge Base at http://kb.vmware.com for vcloud related material you should find everything you need. You dont really need to be an Oracle guru anyway to get vCloud Director working with it.
Just perform a basic install of Oracle, follow the instructions contained in the relevant KB videos / articles and vCloud product documentation and you should be good to go.
Hope these help.
Also, there are plans around training for vCD. I believe an announcement will be made soon Peter.
