Snapshot vApp?

Are there snapshot capabilities for vApps in vCloud Director?  What if I wanted to test something with a group of VMs or a single VM in a vApp, revert it back, and I had no access to the vSphere Client?  Is there a similar feature as that of snapshots in vSphere?

Sadly not. Hopefully this will be available in a future release. The only option, and its not great, I can think of is to do a hot clone via using the API. There is a guide on doing this orchestrator which should point you in right direction but its not really a snapshot more of a backup http://www.vcoteam.info/learn-vco/vcloud-director-vapp-hot-clone.html.

Hmm..unforuntate indeed.  Do you know what might happen if we snapshotted a VM in vSphere, do something, and revert it back?

I'm thinking of writing up a little tool that integrates vCD and vSphere API to perform the snapshot.  Not sure what the effects may be though.

For our client conference we deployed vApps in VCD and then did snapshots of them once fully up via vCenter.  We reverted them via vCenter multiple times a day with no issues.  VCD never complained either.
