Snapshot on vCloud Director

Dear All expert,

I have one double need explanation from all of  you.

Does virtual disk of snapshot file consolidate with main virtual disk of VM when I delete snapshot file via vCloud Director?

I mean that i am afraid data lost when i delete snapshot file of VM via vCloud if disk file not consolidate.

Thanks in advanced for all of your ideas.

Vivath

Hi Vivath,

Dont worry, I can confirm that there is no data loss when you delete a snapshot in vCloud Director. All the changes in the delta file will be merged into the base disk.

hi vivath,

All VM operations in a vcloud director evironment are performed at vSphere layer. ie vCenter + Esxi. So the snapshot delete task is performed same as how we delete snapshots in vCenter.

So you dont need to worry about the snapshot delete task.
