Renaming ESXi Hosts Hosting vCloud 5.5 Director

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to find out if anyone has experienced any issues when renaming the ESXi hosts that is catering the vCloud Director environment?

Our naming convention for servers has changed and it is now mandatory to rename all VMware ESXi hosts.

Any information/help will be much appreciated!

Un prepare a host from vCD, move it from cluster to datacenter level, then reboot it.  After that, do all your work in renaming it (certs, hostname, management IPs, etc).  Adding it back in is the reverse ... put it in the cluster and prepare it from vCD.
