Org VDC network - Unable to delete or redeploy

All VApps have been disassociated

vCloud 5.1.0.810718

I recieve the following error when attempting to delete the network.

Cannot delete organization VDC network Systems External Network (fe6cfe03-318d-4f69-9e1c-c3a15865e615)
Deletion of edge gateway Systems External Network failed.
java.lang.RuntimeException: com.vmware.vcloud.fabric.nsm.error.VsmException: vShield Edge is currently locked for an operation, please re-try the operation later

The issue may be related to the upgrade from 1.5

Any assistance appreciated.

Are you using vCNS 5.1 or 5.1.1 ?

There is a critical bug in 5.1, that happens to fill up the disk space on a vShield Edge over time, and renders it "unmanageable".

Can you check that your are affected by this : http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2035939 ?

As an addendum, this affects all the non direct vcloud networks

I wasn't experiencing the symptions with 5.1

however,  the vCNS has been upgraded to 5.1.1 and the error has changed

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm running into the same issue.

I experienced a similar issue. Contacted VMware support, they fiddled directly with the database - some already deleted object was still being referred to by some other object, this has been deleted by hand, then.

After that it was possible to delete the network objects.
