Number VMs Reported by vCloud Director not same as vCenter

Hi,

I am trying to apply maintenance to some ESXi Hosts, so have Disabled host in vCloud, and Redeployed all VMs.

However, when vm redeployment is complete, vCloud total vm count says (for example) it still has 3 VMs on the host, but, vCenter reports 0 VMs.

Anyone any idea why I might have this situation?

Regards

Tony

vCloud is 5.5.6

vCenter is 5.5.0

Why is it that you are redeploying the VMs via vCloud Director?  If you just need to take a host out the cluster for maintenance, you should be able to vMotion the VMs to other hosts in the cluster without causing vCloud Director any harm and/or distress.

What type of VMs are these?  vShield appliances, "normal" VMs, etc?  Is it possible that there are items that vCloud Director thinks is on those hosts that no longer are?  Maybe check out the stranded items menu and see if there is anything listed.
