LDAP managed users and groups

I hope this is an easy question.  I need clarification on how ldap connected groups and users work in vCloud Director.

If I import an LDAP group into an organization, that group has no users when I examine its properties.

If I then import an  LDAP user into the same organization, who is in the group I just added, then that user shows up in the users list of the group properties.

Do I have to manually add every user that is in that group?  If so, why bother with groups?

Addition information:

I am using Active Directory.

The group in question contains users in Active Directory.

The group is a Domain Local Security Group.

When you import a group, it does not import all users into vCloud.

If a group is imported, membership is validated when the user logs into the vCLoud website .. then automatically imported as required (successful validation of membership + credentials).

This is why you only see the "group" being present, but no users.

Try importing the group, then login as a member of said group.

Observe.

I had actually tried this yesterday, with little luck.  Came back today and it worked.

I suspect I just needed to wait for the AD Sync to run and finish.

Thanks!
