Guest OS customisation

Hi is it possible to trigger Guest OS customisation without VMware Tools installed even though the option is enabled in VCD?

What are the uses of VMware Tools any reference for more info?

No.  VMware Tools is a requirement of the automatic Guest Customization feature of vCloud Director.

THanks for the info i am wondering even for OS such as 2008 where sysprep is built into the OS itself Vmware tools is still needed in this case?

In such cases you don't have to provide sysprep files, unlike older operating systems like XP/2003.  Tools is still required to initiate the process.  Tools pulls in information from the external system (OVF Properties), which is something sysprep cannot do.
