Guest Customisation (hostname and IPAddress) not working

Hi there

I'm using vcloud 9.1 and deploying vapp with a single vm.

My vm is based a centos 7 template (which I created).  I've noticed that when my VM is deployed the hostname I gave it and the IP address that vcloud assigned isn't being configured within the VM itself.

Does this work automatically for anyone else? i have the open-vm-tools package installed, should that be enough? or are you doing something funky with a customization script?

I would appreciate any help you might offer to help troubleshoot.

Hi,

You need several requirements:

- Vmwaretool installed

- Perl package

- Customization must be enable on the vm, check details on vm in GUI

- And last thing, you need to reboot in order to apply the new hostname ip allocation, etc...
