Getting in the bios

Hey , i have the following problem i can't get in the BIOS to set my vm to PXE boot for my clonezilla server testing environment .

Anyone knows a way ?

Much thanks if u do , been trying it for a few days now

What I meant is to use vSphere Client of Web Client and connect to your vCenter Server than edit the setting of your VM from there Smiley Happy

One alternative, is to never have an OS installed if you just want to PXE boot.  Then it should fail to find an OS and bump to PXE.

Second, is to use ctrl+alt+insert to reboot and press f2 like a mad man.

its anoying that there isnt a force to bios option in vcloud director like with workstation.

and are they any other ways since it wont work

Can you use that for a vm in vmware vcloud director?

Didnt know that how ? just using the ip u gave it or?

Afaik, yes. Shouldn't be a problem. Just edit the settings of your VM and from the Option tab, select Boot Options and tick the Force BIOS Setup. Power on the VM and setup your BIOS options.

There is a feature request to "force bios" like some other products.

However, right now, there is no 'force bios' directly from the vCloud UI or VMRC.

Typically, in a PXE install situation, I would have expected most people to use DHCP for the installation process.

It doesnt connect to the vm if i use the Ip from it , through vmware vsphere client

i guess ill need another way any suggestions ?

At least since vCloud 10.2 and higher, you can set "Enter BIOS Setup" in the VM Details Configuration:
