I am creating new cloud setup for vCD 1.5. But when I try to add provider vDC in vCD 1.5, my hosts are going in maintenance mode. After 2% progress I received time out error. because of this I am not able to add host in cloud.
VMware vCloud Director version = 1.5
VMware vSphere Server = 5.0
VMware vCenter Server = 5.0
Note: I am able to add VMware vSphere 4.1 in vCloud Director 1.5.
Could you please guide me where I am making mistake? Please let me know if you need more information.
whith vCD 1.5 and vSphere 5 the hosts will go into MM to install the Agent. the new VIB model requires the hosts be in MM. Were these hosts upgraded? did the agent already exist for 1.5? Are the hosts showing as prepared? If not you can see if the agent is installed and try to remove it and re-prepare them through vCloud Director. You need to ensure they are properly prepared to add them to a vDC.

This can happen if one of the hosts in the cluster has a powered-on VM that can't be migrated. Try preparing the hosts one at a time from the hosts page, instead of trying to prepare them all at the same time.
Maybe the steps in my below post about manually uninstalling a problemetic agent and install it manually after help.

I had same issue while doing POC of vCloud director,, work around i followed was to manually migrate VMs to another host and as soon as I did that,, Host went into maintenance mode and installed the agent successfully..
