Error installing vCD

I am getting this error when trying to install vCD

-

Would you like to start the Cloud Director service now? If you choose not

to start it now, you can manually start it at any time using this command:

service vmware-vcd start

Start it now? y

/opt/vmware/cloud-director/bin/configure: line 135: service: command not found

Start up failed; you should review the logs in /opt/vmware/cloud-director/logs

for details.

The VCD service will be started automatically on boot. To disable this,

use the following command: chkconfig --del vmware-vcd

My linux skill are very limited but I have reviewed the logs but they give no info on this error. Any suggestions on troubleshooting path?

thanks

This error was caused by a DNS miss config. Check Check and Check again....... Smiley Happy

Do you see "configure" listed when you list the directory? Use the following command:

ls /opt/vmware/cloud-director/bin/

You probably don't have the 'service' command available. Check the output of 'which service' (run as root).

You can always start vDC manually by typing '/opt/vmware/cloud-director/bin/vmware-vcd start'
