Console of vCloud Director 8.0 is not working

Hi,

I am not able to get console of my VM on my vCloud Director 8.0.

I am attaching the vcloud console logs as attached, please have a look on the attachment

vCD system details -

[root@xxx-vcd opt]# cat /etc/redhat-release

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago)

[root@xxx-vcd opt]#uname –a

Linux xxx-vcd 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Nov 10 22:19:54 EST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have checked all the configuration based on NTP, DNS, created new certificates, forward and reverse lookup is also fine.

Request your assistance

Thanks

Ratnajit

Hello

Problems with accessing consoles of VMs in vCloud Director is usually an issue with something on the client side (e.g. browser configuration or missing VMRC plug-in) rather than something on the server.  If you can give some details of exactly what is happening when you try to access consoles, like do you get a pop-up window, does it says "connecting..." at the top of the window and maybe also post the VMRC from your client machine, that should help to troubleshoot the issue.

Hi Dave,

I select the VM and then I select open console a pop-out window opens and it is shows "connecting" and then after sometimes it does not show anything. The certificates have been created, DNS resolution is working fine, System is synchronized with NTP. The proxy and console certificates are both trusted and saved under Trusted Root Certificate Authority.

I am using Windows 7 Professional and my browser is Internet Explorer 9.

Thanks

Hi Ratnajit

I've had exactly that problem with Internet Explorer which tends to be fixed by putting the URL for the vCloud Portal into trusted sites.  Perhaps that's worth a look?  On my machine, I also have to put it into Compatibility Mode, but I'm on IE11 so that may not be a problem for you on IE9.

Does it work with other browsers like Firefox or Chrome?

Hi, if you are using self sign cert, try this KB

VMware KB: Cannot connect to vCloud Director HTML5 console with Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome
