Change storage policy

Hello guys.

I need to change the default storage policy for all VDCs. If I change the template or create a new one with just this configuration and apply it, does it work without problems or will I have any impact on the productive environment of the clients?
Has anyone ever experienced this?

Based on the storage type and tiering it might invoke a Storage VMotion. Yes, you can certainly change the default storage policy and that will not impact existing workloads that are leveraging older policies.
