Hi, I have a Esxi 5.5 server and of course 1 of the VM is the vcenter server. I have done a P2V from a windows 2003 sp2 enterprise server to my Esxi server. The problem is the virtual network card (tried with vmxnet3 and now E1000) can only communicate with only the VMs and the Esxi server itself, not the rest of the physical network (router, servers, workstations, etc...). Tried removing and adding a new network card also, I can ping the vcenter, all VMs, and Esxi server and it responds, but I cannot ping/access the rest of the network.
I have other VMs on this Esxi server, 1 2003 and 1 2012, no network problems and they are using the same virtual network. They are not from P2V though, standard installation from and .iso.
Any idea how I could solve this problem? I have not created a network that only communicates internally.
Thanks
Is the ESXi host connected to a managed physical switch? In this case you may want to check whether the physical uplink port(s) on the switch have port security enabled (sometimes called "desktop mode"), which limits the number of allowed MAC addresses.

Hi, unfortunately I don't have access to the switch for now. But I stopped another VM and rebooted the 2003 virtual server and now it sees the network. So my guess is that you are right on the spot. Meaning I can have 2 VM but not 3 that are alive. So for now, I have disabled one of the VM that is not necessary until I have access to the switch.
If with the new tests we will make soon the problem is not that, I will post back.
Thanks very much for your precious advise.
