about which certificate it is talking here given the esxi-hosts showing both 2023 and why didn't i get any alert?
happily i hijack every device with ssh when possible and write my own scripts grepping through logs
would vmware do the same they would recognize errors in systemd units and logrotate errors all the time
[root@vcenter:~]$ system-erros.sh

I think this is not related to any error.
It is simply saying that there is an alarm in vCenter called "Cert Expiry Warning". Could you please go inside the vSphere Client and try yo find that alarm in "Alarm Definitions".
If that alarm is there try to create a new alarm with the same name and take a look into the logs to see if the message appear again.
well, if it's only about add something which already exists so be it - amazing how much stuff appears when you grep for alert|error|warning in the vcenter appliance
