vmotion for OS cluster server nodes

vmotion of Linux and Windows cluster servers to a different ESXi.

in what condition downtime is necessary ! I found if scsi bus sharing is set as physical then downtime is must.

Can anybody share any best practices and other risks of moving the cluster servers on the fly.

I got vmware 5.5 .

I can move cluster servers (linux or windows cluster ) where scsi controller's bus sharing is set to "none".
