vm guest install

I'm using ESXi 5.5 u2 .I want to install RedHat 7 with vsphere client , but not in the list just see readhat 6 . why ?


in another cluster there are redhat 7 vm's but vmware says guest os redhat 6 . how to I change this. i want to see redhat 7 not redhat 6 on virtual machine tab


please help . thanks

To change the reported guest OS:

In the vSphere Client inventory, right-click the virtual machine and select Edit Settings. Click the Options tab and select General Options. Select a guest operating system type and version. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box.


Please try the Web Client to configure the Red Hat 7 VM for the correct OS and report back if this doesn't show the option for RHEL either and post the build number of your ESXi host.

there are lot of application, implementation on operation system . if i change the guest operaiton system . any problem ?
