vSphere replication with vCenter

Hello.

I have some questions regarding the way traffic goes when replicating a Vm towards another host.

I have two vmware hosts 6.0 U1. They both lave local storage. As I have read, the vSphere replication feature should work ok with local storage, since both hosts are in the same cluster. Is this correct?

How will the traffic go in this case? Will the traffic go only between the hosts? Or does the traffic goes via vCenter / vSphere replication appliance?

Thank you!

Hi.

I forgot to say the vCenter server and vSphere replication appliance run on its own host, ESX03. ESX01 and ESX02 are independent hosts, with local storage. I want to replicate VMs from ESX01 to ESX02.

I have found this article here

https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2011/10/how-does-vsphere-replication-work.html

the way i understand is that the traffic goes actually between ESX hosts, because the agent resides in the hypervisor itself.
