vRealize local users not working

Anyone run into this issue?  I cannot log in with the local account "admin".  It says invalid username or password.  I can SSH into it fine with those credentials.  I have also tested another local account I created a couple weeks back, and that account is not working either.

I can log in with LDAP accounts fine, but just not local users.  I am trying to find if there is a service or anything that can be restarted to help this.

I also installed the latest hot fix 2 to vrealize this morning.  This problem was present before the update as well.

Thank you

Did you checked out if your local account is not locked out. As its happen it doesnt allow you to login saying wrong username/password.

you can unlock your local user password via below method shared in vmware kb.

Also you can reset your administrator password from here.

VMware KB: Resetting the Administrator password in VMware vRealize Operations Manager appliance

Anjani,

Thank you very much for the reply.  I ended up not logging into that system for a good hour, and tried again and it worked.  However, I am getting another interesting issue regarding local users.  The first user account I had set up isn't allowing me to log in.  It still says bad username/password.  I reset the password, and checked the account locked was set to false.  For testing, I created a new test user and was able to log in just fine.  Something is tied to that account that is preventing me from logging in.

I am still investigating the issue.

It looks like the issue is related to the Role they were assigned.  I didn't look at the role close enough that someone else here had created.  But all that role was assigned was "View dashboard home page".  I am going to dig deeper in this role to fix the issue, but as soon as I changed the role of that account to one of the built in ones, I was able to log in successfully.

I guess I wish that there was some other type of error other than "bad username or password".

Thanks again for the help
