vMotion troubleshooting

Hi All i am facing a problem lately when i try and v Motion between Production Cluster some of the ESXi Hosts will show this type of Error.

has any one ever faced this problem before ? i am using VDS for my Production. with vmotion on a Standard Virtual Switch.

It means the destination port group is not available on the destination host.

So are you trying to vMotion a VM that is currently connected to a VDS, to a destination host which is NOT connected to that very same VDS, but a standard vSwitch? This is not possible by default, even if both port groups have the same name.

Such a Cross-vSwitch vMotion is only possible in vSphere 6.0 and only through the web client. See these articles for more details on Cross-vSwitch vMotion:

If you're not on 6.0 then the only way is to either temporarily add the destination host to the VDS, or to temporarily create a standard vSwitch on the source host and add the VM to a port group on this vSS.

All ESXi Hosts are sharing the same VDS, its being like this from Day one, with no problems tills now..
