vCenter with external DB

Hello,

we are using a vCenter Server with an external SQL Server 2014 Std.

In case of patching windows updates on the SQL Server, the vcenter server looses connectivity to the db because of pending reboots.

What´s the best way handling this senario.

we can stop the vCenter services by the time the upgrade complete and then resume.

vCenter has total dependencies on Database, there is no way you can hold vCenter services to run when DB is not available
