vCenter services not starting

VMware VirtualCenter Server and VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices are both unable to start.  Everything was operational just recently.  Currently after reboots and some testing, VMware VirtualCenter Server has got stuck on the Starting status while the Management Webservices does not run.  Any help on what to check would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Can you confirm that the vCenter database is running ? Please, attach the vpxd.log from your vCenter server.

This was the closest I could find to the log file name you requested...

Based in logs provided, seems like you're getting the issue described here: VMware KB: vCenter Server 5.5 fails to start after reboot with the error: Unable to create SSO facad...

Try the following workaround:

To work around this issue, restart the VMware Secure Token Service:

  1. Log in as an administrator to the server that is running vCenter Server.
  2. Click Start > Run, type services.msc, and click OK. The Services window opens.
  3. Stop the VMware Secure Token Service.
  4. Start the VMware Secure Token Service.
  5. After the VMware Secure Token Service has restarted, start the VMware VirtualCenter Server service.

That seemed to work, actually had to stop all services and restart all of them leaving the stuck ones for last.  Took a while before I could log in, but all is well now, thank you so much.
