vCenter server time

Hello Experts,

I checked and found in ESXi host time is showing Sunday, December 18, 2022, 11:10:22 UTC

When I did ssh to the ESxi  host the time is showing 2022-12-18T05:39:47.392Z In(05) - I am not getting this what 18T05:39:47.392Z ? is there any way in ESXi  host or in the vCenter server to change the time zone from UTC to IST for better understanding.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Your question has been discussed on several other occasions, but wanting to summarize in a few words, in ESXi/vCenter (and many other OS as well) the "time reference" it's UTC is detached from the concept of "timezone" that in this specific product context you are not expected to set or change.

Hi @BiswarajPattan

To be precise in vCenter via VAMI you can set a timezone, at least it is like this in the most recent versions, I have no memory of the exact behavior of the previous vCenter product lines that are no longer supported because I haven't used them for a long time.
