vCenter networking two VM on same local network between two physical host

Hello!

I currently need help with connecting two VM each located on separate physical hosts sharing the same virtual distributed switch: When I each vm to the private network, they are unable to see each other when on separate physical host, but are able to see each other when on the same physical host.

I already virtual distributed switch installed and added both physical host to the switch network. Also each physical host only has 1 nic, is this a problem?

Any help you can provide to allow them to connect when on separate hosts but in private network would be great.
