vCenter database problems

Hello,

I am again in need of your help as I am buffled with this. I am constantly having issues with the database of one of our vcenter servers. The cleanup sql agent jobs never seem to finish running. Last week, the database has reached 700gb and 150gb of logs (simple recovery mode). Because the jobs never seem to finish (even with vcenter service off for days) I had to trunkate the tables as per the instructions and start clean. That brought the db down to 70gb and 40gbs of logs. Now few days later i am in the same position, well more or less. The DB is now the same size, 70gbs or so, but the logs are 600!

I have made sure to recreate all the sql agents jobs, and even after the trunkate the jobs were finishing for a couple of days.

Can you please advise what to check? I am not sure what to do with this now.

Hi,

Certainly worth working through the following article to help assist in resolving your size growth issues

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100397...

Thanks for that, I 've gone through this KB before without luck. This time though I am seeing this error in the vpxd.log

[08504 error 'Default' opID=SWI-f9a6658a] Failed to get a table to insert raw stats. Perf data will be lost

Which I found in this kb http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=201152... that it should be solved in vCenter 5 u1 which is the one we are on.
