vCenter applicance snapshot (before upgrade)

Hi,

I want to upgrade my vCenter 6.5 applicance(running postgres and embedded PSC) from u1e to u2c.  Obviously, I'll take a snapshot before starting the upgrading.

My question is, if I decide to revert back for whatever reason, will the database be still consistent?  Any chances of corruption due to the fact that the snapshot was taken while the database was running?

Thanks

Shutdown your VCSA VM first and than create the Snapshot by connecting directly to the ESXi. So your DB is in a 100% consistent state.

You can also configure internal VCSA Backup (not sure if its available in 6.5 or a new feature in 6.7) to be sure.

Regards,

Joerg

Shutdown VCSA VM and create a snapshot via ESXi host where it is running on.

Create also a backup via VCSA VAMI to ensure that you can recover in case of failure.
