vCenter VMTools Compatibility

Hello,

I have a question in regards to updating the VMTools on our VMs. We have upgraded to vCenter 6.0 currently and all the VMs have the upgrade available to them. However, I have not done it cause our DR Site is still running esxi 5.5 and vCenter 5.5. If I upgrade to the latest VMTools will this cause issues if we need to bring up our DR Site? I know I need to keep the VM Hardware at the lower Compatibility but wasn't sure on the vmware tools.

Thanks

OK I did check here and looks like as long as I am vCenter 5.5 I should be good. VMware Product Interoperability Matrixe‌s   I might just test this to ensure before I start upgrading them all.
